I was all set to start work on the Blair Line Pizzaland kit I received for Christmas, but stopped dead in my tracks when I read the instructions' note about considering whether or not to paint the interior.  I started thinking I might put an LED or grain of wheat lamp inside during construction and run the power wires through the floor.  Then I looked at the photo of the completed building and thought about maybe using one of the K-Line or Lionel vending machines to provide the illumination and an interior detail near the window area.  I used the vending machine idea on my last layout to detail and illuminate the interior of a K-Line 7-11 store.

Does anyone have any experience with illuminating this kit?  I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Thank you.

I have built it, but I didnt illuminate it.  The building itself is not very big. Probably best to just find a picture of a pizza counter online, size it, print it and add a false wall in the building to glue your printout onto, and light it up.  You will probably want to mount the on the front wall, above and between the window and the door to illuminate the printed backdrop and prevent a "hot spot" of light through the window (you dont want to see the light bulb, just know its there).  The window is also double layer to accommodate the sign that is printed on the glass, so keep in mind that it might distort your view of the interior.
