My kid up in NY was given free tickets to Comic-Con this weekend at the Javits Center and while attending, sent me this pic -
It’s nice to see Lionel reaching out to Generation Z. My kid said that they had some nice traffic. I told him to go back and get me a switcher, LOL!

You are right; I would have never expected Lionel at Comic-con, but pretty cool to see them there. I hope they see it as a success. If nothing else, several thousand people of all ages but mostly young adults just learned that Lionel trains still exist.

Even if they picked up only a few new customers it would be worth the cost of the booth.

I figured Lionel was there to promote the reissued Mickey hand car and other Disney items to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how many attendees bought from the Lionel booth.
They announced on Facebook like a week ago that they would be attending. I've been curious how it went. Sounds like it went well! 
At least we know why they are not at York this week!
