Having Trouble Using Iphone during Run Sessions | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi Forum Friends,

I have been having fairly consistent trouble with my Iphone running the DCS app. Everything seems fine at first - able to find the engine, address it, start it up and off it goes. The problem seems to happen when I just let things run for a bit. The phone screen shuts off, and when I go to look at it again, I have to go first through the password screen and then the app shows up. However, at least 30% of the time (maybe more), the app has lost connection with the engine and the engine is just running blind. At that point, there is no way for me to get it to reconnect with the engine unless I power everything off and start over. If I continually manipulate the iPhone and force the screen to stay on, it seems to work more or less as expected.

Anyone else have these issues? Is there something I need to do to the Iphone or the app to prevent this? It's actually pretty dangerous to have engines running around the layout without the ability to control, at any point! I should also say that I have no voltage or DCS signal issues on my layout, 10's all around.

Reset your screen time in settings to NEVER.

I was having the same problem as David with my LionChief Bluetooth App.

I wish every problem had a simple solution!

That will be in Settings, Appearance, AutoLock, Never.

In my IPhone 10R, it is under settings, display and brightness, auto-lock, never.
