Hello everyone and I have a question on tracks

I use Atlas track also and sometimes there is a small gap but nothing as big as 1/16 of an inch. Which rail has the gap? Is it a curved section? If so, it could be possible that you dont have the track joined at the proper radius. You may have the tracks spread too wide or too narrow.

The rail is not moulded into the ties of AtlasO track, but is held in place because of the way the ties are moulded. Due to this set-up, the rail on occassion can slip out of place. This sounds like what has happened to your rail. It has been my experience from using AtlasO track that I do not have gaps between the ends of rail unless a rail has slipped. Once you have located the offending rail, tap it back into place. You do not need to use a lot of force.

A gap of 1/16" will not affect operation of your train.

Thanks for your replies.  I find out after i posted thevquestion.  Both answers did point out my errors.

1. I used a small hammer and tapped all rails to butt-end

2. I measured the rail at the curve and noticed that my 1/2 circle was not 54".  I then re positioned the rail and it get better.
