I've been looking for an L&N caboose from the popular vendors (Trainz, Trainworld, Charles Ro, etc).
I do want a scale version. I'm leaning toward a bay window as my first preference. I would like it to be dated for early diesel era (40's to mid 50's).
Any ideas on where to look. I'm willing to pay fairly for a nice caboose.
I'd consider one that a skilled craftsman altered a non-L&N to L&N graphics.

I see L&N baywindow #6985. I saw they had two other cabeese, one of which was a later era (SCL/L&N) than I would like. The other was #40105, a yellow offset cupola steel caboose.
I good to see I have some options. Thanks again. I will do a little research on the yellow steel caboose. I'm not sure when L&N had yellow cabeese (if they did).

Are the couplers sill mounted? Or truck mounted?
I ask because if they are sill mounted, I think that it would make for a nice stationary office, trackside (less trucks).
The couplers are sill/frame mounted and this one is 2R. If I build it 3R I have to alter the end frames slightly so the 3R couplers can swing clearly on curves. The 3R version will also be about 3/32" taller so the 3R flanges will clear the underframe.
How much do you want for it without trucks?
I want to use it as a trackside office.
