Found this part today while cleaning my track. Looks to be off a scale Lionel steam engine but I have no idea what it is or where to start. Does anyone have any ideas about what this may belong to?

Can't make out enough detail from the picture to even hazard a guess. Is the end to the upper right threaded? Is the lower left end have gear teeth, or opening for a screwdriver of some type?
Just an off hand guess, but it looks a bit like the water overflow on a non-lifting injector, from maybe under the Engineer's side, down below the cab.
Hot Water has it correct. Maybe from a Hudson?
It looks like a foo foo valve off a poly pompinator arm that connects to the discombubilator
Hot Water just might be right!!!!!!
Take a look at this photo, this sort of looks like it
It looks like a Fenobble Pin to me. This is the pin the establishes the pivot point for the Lajoodis Valve to properly operate the Turbo Entabulator when at speeds over 23.4 mph.
You definitely need that!
My initial thought was the vertical piping found underneath the cab as well. Checking all my engines however, they all have that piping intact. Here's two more photos. One end is threaded and the other almost displays a Phillips head like opening but it's definitely not for that.
It might be the pipe modeled as the booster engine steam pipe. It would be located in a vertical position directly under the cab, probably on the engineer's side. (NYC Hudson's are usually modeled with a booster engine, so I would look there to start.....)
Actually just found the part by searching "booster" on Lionel's replacement parts page. Now to find which engine it goes to. "COUPLING / BOOSTER LINE"
Look at your Hudson - On the Fireman's side of the engine
