I know the Sound Master 210 is old technology. However, I recently obtained one as an inexpensive way to add sound to my Marx layout. I have a William Crooks train. For those of you who are familiar with the 210, it has a wireless receiver and speaker that is mounted in a train car. The receiver picks up a DC signal from the track and feeds it back to the 210, which then synchronizes the steam locomotive sound with the speed of the train. I have converted AC voltage from the Marx transformer to DC to the track and put the wireless receiver/speaker in the baggage car. My problem is this: The only sound I am getting from the speaker in the baggage car is static. Does anyone have any experience with a 210 and have any suggestions as to what my problem(s) might be?
