Ok who will admit they ordered the Illinois terminal heritage unit. Brightly painted, yes but very nice I'm on the fence, please convince me to order it.

Resistance if futile!
OK. The fact you're interested in a heritage unit indicates you are probably one of the denizens of the Isle of Denial. As the self-appointed Information Minister of the Isle of Denial, I fully understand and support this feeling. Buy the unit. It will ease the pain you felt when your road was consumed by the evil forces of Merger-mania. Remove any of those odd "tags" that imply some other road and bask in the knowledge that the Illinois Terminal Railroad still runs and the flag never fell.
As for the loud color, it proudly affirms that YOU still hold sacred the memory of a fallen railroad and are a member of that proud fraternity of those who keep these roads alive (at least in their hearts and minds.)
There. That ought to do it.

David - I've been fighting that one for a few months. I have a picture of one (actual engine) on my computer desktop. I will get it, even though it's outside my area of geographical interest (southern boy). I make exceptions for notable equipment (GG1, for example) and some things that, to me, are flat out gorgeous, like the Illinois Terminal (granted a personal preference). I've also put it off as I had other financial considerations related to the trains. But, in short, it's on the list. If you love it, go ahead!

If you really want it, then get it. If you pass now and it becomes difficult to find in the future, you will kick yourself for not stepping up to the plate. This is a really sharp engine for sure.
Dave, I think you should get all 18 of them, plus the dummy units.
My two cents ...... Order It! You may be very sorry later if you don't.
She sure is a beauty. Love the barricade stripes.
I'm having the same problem with the CNJ heritage unit. I keep going back to the catalog and checking her out. Pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger, though in some ways I really shouldn't. Lol.
Its kind of a sickness ..... but a fun one.

Good Day,
The NS/ Illinois Terminal Heritage SD70ACe is very striking. Go for it! Order it now!
Regards,
Frank
Do it
Ok guys you have convinced me.
Yes Matt I am on the isle of denial but the Illinois terminal heritage is now a must have.
Brian, hey buddy there are 21 if you count the NS unit that has number boards that say 1987 and 2012 so there are not just 18 heritage Units. I would buy all 21 but I just don't have the room, but you do so I'll looking forward to seeing them on your layout.
Hey, if you want it, go for it. I have one of those hideous blue N&W units reserved. If any of you guys get all 21, it would be neat to see a recreation of the Turntable/Roundhouse shot from last July.
Gilly
I say, don't buy it!
If you are truely on the fence and need others to convince you to make the purchase, it is an item that you don't want bad enough. Save your money for that engine that you know you really want when you see it.

No, I really want it, besides I already ordered the ones I really want.
David, go for it. Being from Carolina, Southern (was hoping for the tuxedo scheme) is my first choice. The IT and the Virginian are next in line. Both units very sharp. I don't believe you will be disappointed.
David,
Go for it! The only thing nicer would be a Mckeen motor car!

Ok, 21 then. I have an idea!! I'm getting the PRR, you get the other 20 and we'll run them on my layout!! And even line them up around my turntable!! Yeah Dave, that'll work!
Matt said it well, I originally intended to buy all of those NS heritage unit, most dummy units, however reality set in when that 6000 dollar estamate started saying: you whack jod, the wife will kill you after she shots you in the knee caps a few times. I also wanted two steamers so the order of heritage units went down to roads that I grew up with that were powered and the rest that were cool looking got the dummy check marks, still a high price tage, but I am sure I made JC happy.
Now I need to get to know the new UPS man to tell him were to leave them in the new house.

I think you got that wrong Brian, I'll buy the one and you buy the other 20.Lol
Btw I know it is hard to believe but I made a mistake, the regular NS unit should have number boards of 1982-2012 not what I posted above. I'm shocked nobody pointed that out.
