I always wanted to pickup a centerline track cleaner but could never justify the cost. Thought I would share how I made use of a slightly warped MTH  "B" unit frame that was also suffering from zink rot. I was able to cut the frame and frame in a plastic box. I then cut a previous cleaned paint roller, added a piece of bronze rod in the cut roller that I had in the garage for weight. I then soaked the roller in rubbing alcohol, and away she went. Worked pretty good. Now I need to add a platform, maybe some tanks and handrails and I'll use it until the frame decides to crumble the rest of the way. Thanks for looking.

Thanks John, I figured that I would give it a shot, the frame was shot anyway. I used an oscillating tool to cut the frame and she started to crumble. I probably should have used a dremel with a cutting wheel. I was hoping to keep as much of the fuel tank sides as possible, but that didn't happen. but it works. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Mine is a similar idea.  I have two cavities, one for the Wahl-soaked roller, the other for a weighted piece of 400 wet or dry sandpaper.  My rail is solid, so no danger of removing any plating or going through with the sand paper.  It works ok, but there is nothing like doing it by hand after several months of inactivity.Track cleaning car 003
