Thank you NJ highrailers for your recent event and my first ever in 67 years raffle win. Now what to do. This is a bit of history so I dont want to be the one to destroy it. On the other hand it is way too big for my space and it didn't travel well from Marty's house to NJ to my house. Some repairs and modifications are necessary. This will be one of those leave it on the floor and gaze it until an idea percolates to the top.

I believe I'd find a good craftsman / woman to work with. Maybe cut it down to three bays in each of two roundhouses.. or a four-two split. That would give you the option of having two on your layout or keeping one and selling or trading the other one. If you find the right person to do the work you might make a trade for the work instead of hiring the talent.

Have you given any thought to making a separate bench or table and using it as a static display? It would be a neat way to show off some locos. Some photos of it on Marty's layout around it would make a nice conversation piece.

Alan ill be in touch as soon as i shake this head cold. I was thinking along the lines of a three or four bay structure. Everytime i head out rt 78 to allentown there is an old reading roundhouse still standing in Bethlehem that looks close to my idea.
I constructed the power plant that came from Marty’s layout and went on the highrailers layout.

Thats the spot. Now that i look at it on google maps its a six stall building. Thats not a possibility for me. I have been looking at that building since my son was attending WVU, never got off the road to take a look.
