Layout in Mall in Florida Z

These are pictures taken at the Adventura Mall in southern Florida about 4 years ago. I love the look of these portals. When you look into these they look like they go on forever. I assume that these are done with a solid mirror on the back side with a  2-way or see thru mirror on the side that you are looking thru.

Sorry for the bad camera work....in the second picture the flash from my camera is the bright light on the left side of the portal.

Have you done this before, or can you help me with this project?

Thanks in advance for any advice that you all might have.

Thank you.  That is very interesting, and it seems not too hard to do.

Thanks Mark, very interesting and GREAT article. I assume in your drawing that the "one way glass" your refer to is what some folks call "see thru mirror" or "2 way mirror" ?

May I ask where you put the light or lights in this??  I assume between the 2 different mirrors??

Roger....I spent the last hour doing some research for you and I think I have come up with at least one way to accomplish what you are trying to do.

Go to Google and type in the search box "images of inside of highway tunnel" then click on the search.  The page that comes up will be what is on the web so click on "images" and you will get some nice pictures to choose from.  You should be able to save the ones you want and then resize them to your tunnel opening.  I would use a good quality matte finish photo paper so that once you put it a little way inside of your tunnel (perhaps one car length inside so you can have at least one model car in front of the picture), it will look like the tunnel goes on for a long way.  Since many of the pictures appear to have lights on the roof of the tunnel, you could put a couple of LEDs on the roof just inside and in front of the picture to not only light the picture up but to simulate the beginning of the tunnel lights...??

OK...that is the best I can suggest...

Roger....Your layout is turning into a "Smithsonian" Edition!!

I printed a picture and decided to see if I could help a little more by doing a quick ( and not that great ) illustration of what I am talking about.  I used just plain paper in the printer since I will be doing something similar sometime soon and want to paint the road in front of the picture so that it blends into a continuous scene...so forgive me for the bare wood street in front of the photo...  Here are some pictures I took just now...

Alan, that tunnel picture looks like a one way tunnel BTW.  Both lanes show the back of trucks (Left is a Toyota and the right a S-10/Jimmy if I were to venture a guess.), so how is that green truck coming out?

Roger, I did not write the article nor have I done this, so I have no more info.  I came across it a long while back and remembered it when I saw the photos you posted.
