I don't sneak everything into the house, some of it I only need to sneak into the storage areas. I don't do it out of fear. I do it to spare my wife of concern. haha. The best time/mechanism is during York season. Since I get a table there to sell extras, there is no way to tell whats coming and going. The rest of the year its ebay comings and goings.

Sure, I suppose I could be more aggressive and sexist like some other posters. My plans are more subtle now that we have a little boy. He loves trains and is encouraged by both of us to set them up all over the house. He is my little trainblazer. The wife now includes some train activities into weekend getaways.

When all else fails, these new trains are for the boy. hahahaha. Whats mine is his too. What mamma would refuse trains for her son?

My wife tends to not object to the trains as much now that we have a grandson. The last York I took him to I came home with a pile of stuff, mine and his and she actually liked alot of it and had no issues with it. Now if I was getting a couple of locomotives every month yeah she would have an issue because she knows they aren't cheap but the boxcar or tank car from a forum member or Ebay every now and then she's fine with it. She also knows that I have a couple very expensive Holy Grail items like the Hiawatha and Blue Comet and Southern Crescent and as long as I don't get all 3 at the same time but spread them out she's Ok with them too.

To be fair folks be good to the wife. When we start lookin to pick up some pieces for our layout I don't forget to check out my wife's "wish list" at our local jeweler. We men have our toys which the women do not understand AND they have their toys that we don't understand but as they say in France, "Viva le difference"!!!

Coping with the Significant Authority around here calls for more sophisticated measures. Useful procedures can be found in the "stealth" chapters of the manual used by the Night Stalkers Regiment of Army Special Operations.
