Howe Truss Bridge

An oldie that I have:

The kit was probably pre-war. I remember seeing one one Ken Henry's layout and decided that I would like one myself; forty or so years later that came to pass.  However it is a little on the large size (O scale Adam & Sons E-6 on the bridge):

I finished the stain and brass rods today. Now for the installation.

I had some time today and thought I would install the bridge.  I am very pleased  with the results.  I have started working on the cribbing supports that will be installed on either end and back filled with stone.

Nice bridge. Is that a kit or scratch build? Either way very nice work.

Wow guys. Great lookin bridges. Really nice work there. We're gonna need 5 on our layout and I was contemplating trying to scratch build 1 or 2.  You've inspired me.

IN RESPONCE TO FRED  I CANT TAKE THE CREDIT FOR THE BRIDGE   ITS DEFENILY HUNTERLINE   I CANT REMEMBER IF THEY MADE A 2 TRACK DECK OR IT WAS BASHED BUY THE GUY WHO BUILT IT   BUT I GOT IT ON THE BAY SOME MINOR DETAILS ADDED AND OF COURSE SOME AGING

That is a really nice bridge, especially since you built it from scratch.  Thanks for sharing.

I tried one of these a while back.  I remember the frustration threading the rods to get a couple of nuts on each.  It wasn't until I tried placing the die in the vise and running the rod in and out with the drill that i found relief.  There are 112 rods. Was not my design, I found a blueprint and followed that.

I ended up placing it with two other bridges across a river and I call it " Three Bridges" after a place we used to swim when I was a kid.  Those of you from central Jersey know what I am talking about.
