I have a MTH Hudson engine with protosound 2.0 that will only smoke when in conventional mode. I have it programmed on the dcs and everything else functions except the smoke when in command mode. Not sure what the issue is smoke is turned on through the remote. It smokes just fine when in conventional so I know it does in fact work

There are two controls for smoke in DCS. You can turn it on or off with the keypad and control the density ( High, Medium, Low) through the menu options. The low setting may make minimal to no noticeable smoke depending on the condition of the smoke elements and wick.

Can you hear or feel the fan running when the smoke unit is on?

Also, what is the product number of this engine?

Try a feature reset. If no joy a factory reset. If still no joy and this is a PS-2 5V board (uses 8.4V battery) it may be a quirky failure of the board. G
