I need ideas for a tool that I can use to tighten the round nut. I used to use a needle nose pliers, but I have applications in small spaces.
My fingers just don't work that good anymore.

Try replacing the finger nut with a regular nut. A small wrench could then be used.
Good idea Rod you could also use a nut driver if there is room in front of it. Nick
In the picture you have the hex nut & the thumb nut on the wrong side. the hex nut goes on the side with the ridges on it.
I have this little handy set of wrenches. Get into tight spaces very easy. For those studs, you can put a small daub of bees wax on the nut, stick it to the wrench, lower the nut into position and run the stud in and thread it. Just snug at the end and your all set.
