Ideas for realistic grass part 2

Nice effect. Very nice. I have been trying to decide what to use to cover the base of a 165 gantry crane without damaging it. That's a good idea. I think I will giveit a shot. Thanks for post and pics.

Looks great.

Another material you may want to try is polyfiber batting from the craft store. It has similar properties and may be teased thin to represent vegetation.

It is available in black (which saves the paint step) and is actually more economical than the scouring pads. Looks great when ground foam is applied as you have done.

Green polyfiber is also available from Woodland Scenics, and while it is a little more expensive than the craft store variety, it is still among the least expensive scenery materials on the market. A $4 bag goes a loooong way.

I use fiberglass furnace filter material for this.  It's really cheap and adds nice texture to the landscape.   I like to cut it into strips or random pieces, spray paint black, and glue on foliage.  It worked great around the base of my horse corral.

My first thought that these would be easy to trim and detail for Western Black-Berry bushes that so common in groves near steams.
