While I can say I don't own any of their items due to not being my scale, I came across this video and must compliment these gentlemen on their candor. If this has been mentioned sorry I hadn't seen it.

Sounds like a company that is really trying to get all aspects correct the first time. Refreshing in this day and age. If I modeled in their scales I would seriously consider them. Kudos to Scale Trains for owning problems and laying it out for their customers.
I dream of these guys coming out with O-Scale stuff but it is nice to hear them explain/discuss trouble. I especially like how they talked about the difficulty of color matching.
Scale Trains bought the HO line from MTH as well as the complete S gauge line that MTH had previously purchased from the S Helper Service founder and owner. ST appears to be a top end supplier. First, prior to the S gauge purchase they had discussions with some S gauge operators to better understand their future client base. They are carefully reviewing/improving all the designs and tools prior to putting the MTH cars and track back into production. Preorders for the first new run of hoppers were just opened, I ordered four to start. S gauge engines are likely a ways off. There are many issues to solve, more than for the HO engines.
We in S gauge are very fortunate that ST has entered the market.
- Publicly owning up to their mistakes.
- Rejecting batches of production and factory errors.
- Doing right by customers after the sale to correct problems that initially went unnoticed.
- Improving production processes with the goal of getting future models right going forward.
What a refreshing business model!
Count me among those who would love to see them make O Gauge trains too.
