Hi GUYZ,
Anyone using these rechargeable batteries for their Legacy Cab2 and MTH DCS handhelds. A friend had told me they are worth getting. Wondering which ones to get? Here is their site. Thanks for your time.

I use the Tenergy Low Self Discharge batteries for my DCS and Legacy/TMCC remotes. They have worked fine for years.
Thanks JOHN.
NiMH batteries are usually very long-lived. The key to how long any battery lasts in use is the capacity rating, amp-hours or milliamp-hours.
5 years ago a bought a bunch of Tenergy 9 volt for PS2 locomotives. Having, not run any in 4 years, I cannot provide any train experience. However, I had 2 Tenergy left over and 2 new MTH green batteries. Every 6 months, I recharge them. The Tenergy, recharge just like new, but the MTH appear to be degrading. I also put a Tenergy in a CO detector, some 6 months ago and still no low battery alarm. I think the Tenergy "low self discharge" claim is real.
I believe another key to long-life with NiMH rechargeables is to use good charging device. Having read on this forum about charging devices that tend get batteries warm or even hot, I avoid them and use chargers where the batteries stay cool or just get mildly warm for longer battery life.
I write the charge date on the extra in my closet, and I've pulled them out after a year and still had a good charge on them.
Keith, I seem to recall that the smoke & CO manufacturers recommend against using rechargeables. I don't know if it's because the slightly lower voltage, compared to alkalines, degrades performance.
If the loco is used regularly, a PS2 loco battery should not need recharging, since PS2 has a recharger built in
Thank GUYZ for the input. I put an order in for this one, charger and batteries. Also picked up extra batteries.
I just bought a HEPA air cleaner made by Tenergy, thought all they made was batteries. All 2 dozen of my BPRC engines use Tenergy batteries, but in the 9.6, 11.1, and 12.0 range. After 5 years no issues yet.
