Have not seen much written on this piece since it came out. Lionel says 'new tooling' as the original one was involved in a lawsuit with MTH years ago. What differences might there be in Lionel's new model from the beautiful 2000 "100 Yr Anniversary+ release? They produced THREE stunning large steamers in that catalog with the PRR T1 and the B&O EM1. Golly - has it been 22 years already?
Is it 'worthy' of the Vision Line designation? What are the new features?

Dave Olson shows a production sample and discusses the A on the facebook video link below. I believe the A"s are being offered in different variations just like the prototype as changes were made.

I heard from a dealer this may ship to end-user buyers in late January.
Mr. Muffin reported in an email I received the Class A is shipping from Lionel December 19th.

You want to know when something is shipping go to the Lionel Store website. They always have the best dates.
December 19th is the current date which corresponds to what others are reporting. Most likely the big dealers will have them pre Christmas and those using a distributor just after.
