Interesting Items from MTH

I ordered the Western Pacific at O Scale West.  It has yet to arrive so can't report on how it looks.

Another company coming around to 2 rail. How nice. But is this a special car produced for peterson and not going tobe a regular offering of cars in 2 rail? Nice to have kadees but will the car be lowered and the wheelsets be proto.

If you look up the prototype photos of this car it sat real high. I thought it was high too until I saw the prototype. It is a very nicely done car. Ken

Drop bottom gondolas ride higher than other cars so that the floor doors over the trucks can be opened, although they don't open quite so wide as the others.

I have a UP one from the MTH club and it's really nice. Plus it got pretty good reviews in OST ( I can't remember the issue, I have it somewhere).

 

This would be a good route for MTH to go with all thier premier cars.

I just ordered a SP&S. I have only two pieces of MTH rolling stock one is a Jorden spreader that I 2 railed and the other is a Westinghouse Snabel that I want to sell that I converted back to 3 rail. It will be interesting to see how this looks.

Merlyn Lauber from Caboose Stop hobbies showed my some of the 2 rail GenSet units he has.  I must say that they look very nice, but that twin motor China drives, and the MTH crappy electronics keeps me at bay.   Although, if MTH updates the electronics, and they do an NS unit, I might just consider one......
