I know this comes up every so often but i have a two part question ,i have 4 separate loops & each one is powered by a 180 watt power house which as you know have a very fast circuit breaker ,is it necessary for me to put a tvs on each loop,i have all of my track feeds going to the barrier strips which is where i would put the tvs ,as you can see by the picture the distance between the positive & common is longer than the tvs so is it ok to sodder a wire to the tvs so it can reach both barrier strips ,i already have the tvs's from my former layout . My second question is how can you tell if the tvs has tripped ?DSC02253

Royz Trains sells TVS units that are ready to wire in. They cutoff over-voltage over 35 volts. Isn't that a high value?  What value TVS do we need? I have a TVS built into each channel of my DCS unit, but I have started to bypass that recently and should consider putting a TVS in at my track connections. Do you need one for each drop, or should I be putting them at the distribution point?
