I mostly read the mag while flying so I down load to my IPAD.

The files come in in the order that I have down loaded them, rather than for instance sorted by run number.

It makes trying to find an older run referenced in a newer run kind of frustrating.  I am wondering if there is a way to sort the 'my content' agre on my ipad?

One word  -  Goodreader. Look for it in the app store. I think it's $5 or somewhere around there. Buy it and you can fix this problem.

iBooks on the iPad, where pdf files get saved by default, is terrible with this. You can't rename files and you can't sort anything.

Goodreader has a Document Manager built into it. You can easily open the Document Manager, rename files and then re-save them with the new name. They will then sort by the file name you give it. Easy. I use it all the time on my iPad. You can use Goodreader to open pdf files, txt files, doc files and a lot of other formats, too. They call it the "Swiss Army Knife" of file management apps for the iPad.

I am understanding this to mean that I can not use GoodReader to solve this short term problem?

I can not remember now what my problem was but some how I could not get things to down load to my IPAD, I had to use the OGR app.

Do I understand correctly that I can not sort what is already on my IPAD in the OGR app?

Can't you just copy the OGR issue to Adode Acrobat reader on your IPad and rename the issue from that point.

Or download to PDF , say 10 issues or more (one at a time, you just need a fast internet connection) of OGR on you desktop and save it to a lightening to USB memory stick.  The memory sticks range from 32-128gb in size/memory. Plug that memory stick into your iPad and open PDF files, for easy reading. When you travel and do not have wifi etc.
