All,

I am looking for sources for HO scale PRR hairpin (2 pipe) railing.  I need about 220" of the stuff.  It doesn't have to be high quality stuff; I'm thinking of 3-D printed WVP (white, versatile plastic or cheap nylon) railings.  In the pantheon of good, cheap, fast, I'm picking cheap and fast.

Here's what it looks like:

I'm trying to deal with Shapeways, but I'm not optimistic. Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks,

George

Here you go, George.  Use Phosphor Bronze wire (also from Tichy) to represent the pipes.

Hi Bob,

Yeah, I actually have some of these (but not the wire).  They were my first attempt.  Unfortunately, the stanchions are very delicate and I'm not sure my fine motor skills (or lack thereof) are up to it.  My preference would be to purchase a length of already assembled or 3-D printed railing.

Thank you, though.

How about these then?

At about a dollar an inch, it isn't really cheap but it is fast.  The Tichy stuff is cheap (about a dollar a foot) and is relatively fast, but a little picky to work with as you've noted.

Now that is funny.  I looked on Shapeways and didn't see it.  I have some of the same vendor's O scale railing.

And of course, my e-mails to him have gone unanswered.

Why is the hobby world full of curmudgeons who wouldn't know customer service if it bit them in the ***?

Thank you, Bob.  This solves my problem.

George
