I'm new to forum, and new to building a layout.  I'm buying a ZW4000, and will be getting a DCS in near future, but will run conventionally until them.  Some PS2s and a PS1 engines.  Right now I have bus wires connecting to all track in the two loops, but in reading some of the posts, I see I should have run inner and outer loop separately, and isolated at between the two switch sets.  this would  allow to run inner and outer loops independently conventionally.  So at this  point, should I be cutting the center rail only and re-power the inner loop with a new bus, and keep the ground (outer track) common tied together, or should I be isolating all three rails (Power and ground) and run another ground too to he inner loop?IMG_7419

You don't have to cut any track just remove the center rail pins from the track between the 2 switches and add insulating pins. Ross or Gargraves sell insulating pins that work with both Gargraves & Ross track. Gargraves sells track power clips that work with both Gargraves & Ross track. I use Ross Custom switch website more then Gargraves and can get almost all track pins and clips from Ross.

Supply power(use power clips) every 4 or 5 sections of track for best electrical performance.
