Pull out the white 9V, put a BCR in its place. Its as easy as that. Those white batteries are so old now, I wouldnt even try to power that up out of concern a bad battery would brick it.
Whoops... The link you posted is for a 4-6-2 K-4s Pacific Steam Engine w/Proto. If you have the correct model number, locate it on the MTH website, then click on the Support Tab. Manuals can be viewed and downloaded from there.

That’s what he said it was in his original post, a PS-1 K4s. The picture he posted is of the tender.
