IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!! Share your railroad's team track photos here!
Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations. Practically every type of freight car can be on/off loaded on a team track. Some passenger train equipment and MOW equipment can also be on/off loaded on team track too.
Share your railroad's team track action here. All are welcome to participate. All you need is an undesignated siding/spur that serves no one particular industry. Folks with museum quality layouts to folks with as simple loop of tin plate track with an undesignated siding/spur are welcome! Photos of real railroad team track operations are welcome too.
This week on the Free State Junction Railway's team track number one in Lower Patsburg, a C&NW flat car has arrived with a load of concrete pipe destined for a local building supply dealer. Although the building supply dealer has it's own spur, that spur is presently at capacity with several car loads of lumber. Since this flat has to be returned to C&NW quickly, the FSJR dispatcher directed the car to team track one.
Big Hooker was already positioned on the team track. Before being put into service, Big Hooker needed some minor repair work which took mechanics about a half hour. Once the unloading crew arrived, they quickly sprung into action removing the chains which held the pipe load securely in place during the journey from the manufacturer. Once the repairs were completed, Big Hooker, swung into action and transferred the pipe load from the flat car to a flatbed trailer.
Once the tractor trailer drove off with the pipe load in tow, the crew settled down for a relaxing lunch on the deck of the flat car.
Feel free to post your railroad's team track action here on this thread. We'd love to see them.
Thanks for stopping by and see ya next week on Team Track Tuesday!!! Have a wonderfully creative week!!
