Having problem with an MTH ITAD hooked up to a crossing signal.  I have one wired to the layout that is working properly with activation as the train passes the ITAD infared and stops once train passes.  The other one is "constant on" and will not go off.  I have taken the ITAD off and tried it on a separate layout and it works fine.

Do I have a bad connection on a piece of track somewhere??????.......  Suggestions....

MTH ITADs are a pain...

You can:

Adjust the sensitivity so it turns off, but it might not activate properly

Put a "hood" over the sensor made from paper or cardboard

Put clear tape over the sensor so the light is more diffuse

Move it from direct light to prevent glare on the sensor

Dim the room so less light hits it

Get a lionel version, it works so much better.
