I started building this very small kit the other day. It is a very nice easy build with a lot of little detail. I need to find a spot to put it after it is completed.

Reminds me of some of the AM transmitter shacks you would see in the swamps of northern NJ
Those kits always look so nice when they're done, compared to off the shelf buildings I think.
Are they less expensive than things like the Menards offerings, or are you paying extra for a bit more detail?

The prices are appropriate for what you are getting IMO. Their largest O scale kit, Olympia Tool and Die, is the most expensive kit. It can be configured a few different ways and does include several detail parts. Additionally, the walls are etched with not only nice brick work but also a "stucco" type look. These type of kits have a level of detail that some of the pre-built buildings don't readily have IMO.
