I had to take a locomotive in to be checked out.Its a lionel virginian berkshire with tmcc.It works fine. Now I have to rework my tracks.Turns out there is a curve that I think is to tight.Anyway I got some 072 curves.I was gonna do some work there any way.Well I am happy now.Pretty sure once I widden that curve things will be alright.I have a few weaver boxcars that I add weight to.This is not the first time I have had to do some over on my layout. But I think every body that has a layout.Has had to go back and redo some thing so I know I am good company.

Little Choo Choo Shop in Spencer NC? How are Steve and Ann these days? One of my two favorite shops when I lived in Charlotte, NC from 1993-2002. The other was Rich Peabody's shop on Albemarle Road.
So, what cured the engine problem? Would you post that in the engine thread from earlier. It may help others with a similar problem.
Good to hear about a fruitful shop visit.

Well for one thing I did not have enough smoke fluid. So I burned out the wick which my repairman replaced.I was also told that it takes time and power to get the smoke unit to work. You see I use a mth z4000.I didn,t know TCMM locomotives act different with. You see I did not want to over fill the smoke unit.Lets just say its a real hassle to clean up.And I am redoing a curve on my layout.I am using 072 curve in this one part. That should take care of that.

Please share and/or enlighten me. What is this about a Z-4000 and TMCC not playing well together? Thanks in advance for your explanation.
My Lionel TMCC and Legacy locos run just fine with my Z4000. Never had any issues.

There should be a smoke/no smoke switch on the engine. Then, you can safely run it without burning the wick when you don't want smoke.
I think you were given a story about the Z-4000 not playing well with TMCC/Legacy engines. The only issue that you may encounter is perhaps the horn or bell not working on a Lionel engine with an MTH transformer in conventional mode.
If you need some help changing the track arrangement, let me know.
yep, 100 mile runs can feel like a long run.
I hope all works out for you now. Enjoy the engine and the layout.

That brought back some memories.........
Rich is a great guy and I stopped at TRAINS LLC a few times a week. He sold me my MTH N&W J 611 that started me in O scale........and funny that someone brought up seeing SRR Sean......I worked with Sean at First Union and he is why I went to see Rich.....after Sean showed me his MTH J....I had to have one.
Spent a lot of time at Little Choo Choo and Spencer too.......good old days.

P.S I have also fixed my curve section of track. It was to tight for the locomotive.I used 1 072 curve with a 054 and the last section atlas o 081.No more derailment of the front wheel.
