Okay, I just found the courage to purchase a Legacy 990 system. I'm kind of apprehensive about the purchase so far. I've never been good with electronics, so here it goes. Just purchased a Legacy engine a little while back, so I guess I was heading towards that direction. In the meantime, I've been watching youtube videos on using the system. But I'm still worried about the learning curve for using it. I hope I made the right decision. I'll be getting it by the end of the week, and I'll have time to read up on it before using it. Let you know how it goes. Mark.

I just added it to my DCS system a few months ago. It really was pretty easy to get going. However, further study will be required to maximize use of all the features available. I'm still working on that one.
Lionel has some good videos as does Marty E Legacy is pretty straight forward, watch a few vids, read the manual and enjoy. Then feel free to ask away
Yes it's pretty easy to get up and running. After using it a little then you can try some of the fancier stuff like crew talk etc. Heck my 4 year old granddaughter mastered the basics in about 4 minutes. Me it took a while longer.

I think you will be glad you did buy the 990. When in doubt, follow along in the manual and also ask questions here.
Good luck and most of all "HAVE FUN".
I have no comparison to other systems, but, I Love The Lionel Legacy System. I highly agree with Reading the Directions before starting. All of my Turnouts, Blocks, Accessories are operated with TMCC/Legacy. Happy Railroading.....
I bought mine last summer after they came in stock again.
Sat in the box until a few weeks ago.
I really like it! Read all the directions first and played with it. Really cool to push a button and see the locomotive respond. the interaction is what makes it so addictive!
PS-My biggest concern was knowing how to stop my locomotive!
You'll love it. I got mine in July. I hardly ever go back to conventional running Much.
Thanks, guys. I appreciate your comments. Now, I'm looking forward to using it!
pine tree junction,
I just purchased new Legacy 990 a short time ago, the Legacy is pretty darn user friendly, and the Cab2 runs FasTrack Command Control switches with just track power
just great. You made a good decision with your purchase, enjoy.

All of you on this forum are the greatest! Thanks for the encouragement! It'll be quite a journey for me with this new command system. Let you know how I'm doing when I get it set up. Mark.
Pine tree junction,
I recommend you watch the free Lionel educational Legacy video on the Web, to get you started, they do a very nice job of explaining how everything goes together and works. I still think Rich needs to do an OGR Legacy/DCS Video guide however, his stuff is top shelf.
