I recently purchased a set of the K-Line Golden State Alcos (ABA) diesel, and they ran fine for about a half hour. Now all I get is a dim light in the cab and no movement on the track. If I run a power source directly to the motor contacts they all run. I have been told to reset the units and also told you cannot reset these? 
@PapaNap Welcome to the forum! When asking for assistance with a repair, providing the actual product number for the item in question is usually helpful and may allow others to better answer your questions. Some additional information will also help.
The issue could be caused by something shorting between the hot and common wires and/or frame inside any one of the locomotives. Have you tried running each unit on the tracks individually?
Do the locomotives run on the track with the shells off?
Have you looked inside the locomotives for any wires from the hot side (center rail pickup) that may be shorting to the frame?
Are there any pinched wires or missing wire insulation?
