k line smoke unit verse Lionel

I have a k line smoking diner and a caboose office with a Lionel smoke unit - they are both hooked up to the same power supply the k line smokes too much and the Lionel barely smokes. what or witch one should I change or maybe the resistor?

I would try hooking each unit to its own power supply allowing for different voltages.
