Kadees on Lionel SP F7s thanks to LOS & Mario!!

I originally posted this over in 3Rs, but I think it should go here for anyone considering going to Kadees.....

Well Doug (laid off sick) you have cost me a ton of time and money. I saw your videos on kadee installation and was impressed with how much better the cars and engines looked and after seeing your tutorials I figured I could do it too! Thanks to to Mario. He is making 3D printed mounting pads that saved me a ton of time! If you are thinking about go the kadee route check out LOS's videos and email Mario mscalzo3@juno.com for pads.

If you are thinking about going the Kadee route, I encourage you go for it. You will be happy with the finished product!

I have been following Mario's progress with his new pads. Looks like it helps this installation a lot.

The hardest or most time consuming part of it is getting the 3R coupler off and making sure there is clearance for the Kadee draft gear box. Mario's conversion pads make the rest a breeze.

You said it Doug! In addition to cutting the lobster claw off of the truck I had to grind down the backside of the Kadee draft gear box (like you demonstrated). All you need is a bench grinder, a dremel tool, Mario's shims and a good amount of time to mount kadees on the rear of the f units. I made my own shim for the fronts, but Mario may have one.
