K&P coal mine

Looks a thousand percent better now.

Wasted effort.

Give it a couple of years loading coal into those Pennsy and Reading hoppers and it will look just like it did when you put it on the layout.  It's the coal dust.

(Whazzat?  Really?  Ohhh, now I get it.)

is this kit still available?

 Thank you for the coments. still working on details. got telphone poles up and string the wires. Have lots of outher details want to add have to go through castings I have to see what I can make.

I dont know if this kit is still available. It been fun so far. 

I would say that this is still available. They still advertise in OGR. I got this kit about 5 years ago. It was my first craftsman kit to put together and it was a lot of fun. The instructions are super and the parts fit even better.

They do not have a website. The guy is in the Orange Hall at York and they advertise in the back of OGR.

Please remember that this was 5 or 6 years ago so I really do not remember. But I think it was at the $125 range. Just call them, they are great folks to deal with.

I called and he is sending info---I am pretty sure I will order a kit; anyone have good ideas on appropriate lighting for this ?

Right now I am going to be adding some grain weat bulbs and some leds.

 I had added 4 coal schuts by making them out of card stock and chain thay look good but need lights to see them. will be adding them on the under side were cars are loaded. the mine shaft i am puting flikering leds to look like shaking lites.
