Hi,

I found a thread on this forum about what type of glue to use with Plasticville structures.  I am hesitant on using glue, because I would not be able to take the building apart and put it back into its box or store it flat.  I am not too worried about collector values as on my Cape Cods I have had to repaint them due to all of the factory gluing around the windoes and such.   I found on the internet someone mentioning using "Tacky Wax", I was wondering if anyone on this forum has used it or something else like it with good or bad luck.

I started to use poster putty, but the buildings still twist a bit and sometimes the putty comes through the joint.

    Thank you,

You can use Elmer's white glue.  It does a good job of holding the buildings together.  When it's time to take them apart, use an exacto knife to remove the glue.  It comes right off with no damage to the building.  Another way is to run it under warm water.

I have taken apart several, something like 10, Plasticville structures that I had previously glued together with Elmer's white glue.  In my case I did one at a time since my goal was to repaint and enhance each one.  I let it soak in a bath of warm water which, I think, I just let get cold and continued to let it soak until it either came apart on its own or VERY EASILY came apart with almost no adherence left between pieces.

It really doesn't take too long for the glue to soften.  You can then just wash/rinse the glue off and there is absolutely no indication that it was once glued.  At least not on the ones that I did.
