Hi folks,

I have the MTH Keystone Bakery building that I think is really cool.  It's really special for me, because I used to help my grandfather deliver bread from there during the summer when I was in school. He retired from there in '79.

I was wondering if anybody has a photo of a Keystone Bakery delivery truck they might be able to share here. I have scoured the internet to no avail. I've asked some folks who could get me pictures of the bakery itself, but no trucks!  I'm sure my mother has one stashed somewhere but doesn't know exactly where to find it. I remember the big orange door  outlined with the blue "keystone", just as it is on the MTH building,  on the back of the truck.

I would like to model one but need a photo reference to get it "right". I'd appreciate it greatly if someone has one, they could share it with the forum, please.

Entering the Beaver Valley via I 376 and crossing the Ohio River, you will experience the Shell Oil Cracker Plant, under construction.   Recently Shell bought the old Michael Baker Engineering Building, Dutch Ridge Road, Beaver,  to be the new office complex for the cracker Plant.  It will be interesting to see what all this does to an old community.  Shell plant is south of Beaver, Bridgewater north.

The CSX main line bridge across the Ohio River at Bridgewater, is over 100 years.   Bridgewater has a small park that would allow for a lot to train watching.

Interesting to note that Shell also bought PGT (Pat Gallagher Trucking) property that was adjoining the Cracker Plant property.  PGT has relocated.  PGT owners have horses, and recently purchased a beautiful farm, North Sewickley Twp., Beaver County, and built a horse arena building, on the property.

There is still 4 to 5 years of construction until the Cracker plant is operational.

Shell in the beginning of this adventure, had stated that even though there appears to be a lot of rail service to the location, it is not enough.  It will be interesting to see how this problem is addressed.

The exit ramp off I 376 at Rt 18, east side of the Ohio River has been changed to accommodate a double lane exit ramp, in anticipation of 3,000 trucks a day, during construction.

Communities in the area have been alerted to the new disaster procedures associated with the Cracker Plant.  There is an on-going upgrade of all necessary to accommodate the Cracker Plant and it's associated potential problems.

Sorry to hi jack your thread, I find all this new found wealth in the Valley to be amazing.

Enjoy your visit to the Beaver Valley.

Mike CT.

Off topic, but I recently found a very cool vintage screen door with the Keystone Bakery advertisement painted on the screen in the basement of a property I own here in Beaver County. Thought you would like to see it.

I did and I appreciate the photo .  That is really cool, wonder if it came off what used to be called the day old bread store on the side of the bakery. Or maybe just a retail store like "Spooners" or something.
