I am building a layout in a small room and decided to reduce the size of the railroad station. I had an MTH Railroad station and so I cut off the top floor and lowered the roof. I repainted it and then weathered and put in LED lighting. I used strip lights on the outside and inside. I put photos on the inside to demonstrate depth and it being occupied. I used a real station for ideas and this is the results. I used the cut off pieces for another building I will talk about latter.

You did a great job. I also like the addition of the bay window.
Matt,
I have been at Angels Gate Hi-Railers to check out some of your systems when I live in CA, Emerald Station Studios Train shop, I wired the San Diego 3-Railers layout.
Dan
Nice execution on the "remodel" of the building.
Night lighting adds a touch of realism.
MTH should pattern this piece and produce it.
very nice job looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dan,
Your station looks great! I think I like it better as a one story building and the weathering is great!
Mark,
Thanks, my layout is two levels and has 4 scales N & HO O & ON30. I have a small space for the layout and also have a portable layout out too. Check out the in the photo album and see the detailing a small space layout.
I'm with Mark...much nicer as a single story structure. Even an added bonus, you have lots of usable materials left over from the bash. Wonderfully innovative!

Dan,
what photo album are you referring to? Having modeled in all those scales, and always having a small space, I would love to see them.

This is where you can see the photos. I got into this because my late son and I did HO together and my wife's late husband had N scale and I inherited them to say. I also wired the San Diego 3-Railers layout in San Diego Model train museum and got influenced by all the different scales done there. Need to find a way to show off my portable layout I do for children of any age as 'Engineer Dan'.
