Kitbashing MTH Country Gas Station.

I think if you went at it slowly with a fine tooth saw it would work well.

If all goes well you would wind up with the service stall separate to repaint and use elsewhere.

I cut many MTH buildings using a table saw. Never had one crack. I have not cut the gas station, but I can check it after work tonight and give you more opinions. Go slow and it should not be a problem.

Go slow and easy, maybe cut a half a brick away from the main building so that you can always trim down when you are done.

 

Some of my worst challenging plastic work has been solved by taking a few days working slowly on a cut. If I rush something I will break it.

Check with someone who has this station. Many of the MTH  structures that have side attachments are actually separate units that unscrew from the main structure.

Rob, while I don't have one, I'd wonder if that separating wall between the main building and the garage isn't open between them...meaning you'd have to make a new wall to hide the possible opening.

If your pressed for space, why not scratch one with some evergreen siding- or any brick siding of your chioce, make a roof whatever pitch you want and add windows and doors- there are a few places where you can buy those.

I found this picture of the station upside down. Does look like tabs holding on the garage to you guys? At least I know the wall is solid.

Good, the most you'd have to do is fill in the grooved lines for the side stall and rescribe them to mimic the brick pattern....repaint and your golden.

I just checked my H-D version of the same station.

The side stall is definitely held on only by 4 spring tabs.

There is nothing else holding it or its roof on at all.

You will have 4 tab slots to fill as you thought if the right hand wall is visible.

On the side stall you will have a 3 sided building that could be placed next to some other structure, or you could easily kitbash a suitable wall.

I am now thinking of bashing mine in this exact same way.
