I am again trying to build a large modern hospital for my layout.  The hospital looks like a 12 story skyscraper.
The "Emergency Dept." entrance will be under a roof so it will be hidden from general viewing, but the front of the hospital needs and entrance that is befitting of a medical center.  Any ideas or web sites that would sell door kits for my hospital front?  It could look like a front entrance to a bank or some other public building,

Thanks for any help.

The front entrances are typically large revolving doors. A piece of clear plastic tubing and a few pieces of plastic flats should do it. The details could be painted on the plastic. Then add a semi-circle roof or a large car-port on the front.

3" would be ~ 12', which seems correct. The tubing could even be something like the large clear candy canes for the holidays, or a 2 liter soft drink container.

Robert,

I think your best bet is to take a picture of an entrance and try to scratch build it. Since they are usually have a lot of large glass windows and doors I would suggest making a structure using styrene strips and square stock. There are many shapes and sizes of these. You can frame out the structure, paint it and add the glass windows and doors at the end.

I made a revolving door in the building below but taking a clear plastic top off a spray on spritzer type shampoo bottle or something like that, that was about 1.5 - 2 inches in diameter.  I cut 90 degrees of it away and cut the building front so that just a bit more than that part of it fit as shown, and cut clear plastic sheet to fit in three pieces, one across the width inside it, the other two at 90 degree angles to form the other two doors: you can see one of them sticking out in the photos.  The most difficult part was painting them "brass" frames around everything to make it look realistic.  Sorry I don't have a better picture of it.
