Running at Interstate speeds building mountains but am unsure as to best shape to apply.
In two areas I have stacked 2" foam layers like an Ottoman stool ready to be chopped, melted and ground.
Now I am framing out a tall plywood ribbed range but am unsure as the best way to compress shapes typical of rocky mountains.
I would like to see what others have done with large model mountains.

But I softened it by adding a foothill to the left of the tracks, and just to the right and behind the Victorian house:
Also, by having mountains in the distance painted on the backdrop. Arnold
Jim, from the construction photos the track plan for Pinnacle Peaks appears to be totally separate from the main layout. l had thought the tracks were connected.
Hi Joe,
The plan was eventually to connect the upper level to the main layout as a branch line. The lower level would also connect to the line that ran off to the right along the cliff under a city scene in the "new" Mott Haven section.
Unfortunately, I had to downsize the layout and dismantle that area before any of that could happen. Luckily, this area was documented in several OGR magazine articles before its demise.

One dimensional to cover a far corner, made from WS Shaper Sheets and foam wooden wall - looks better in person than in photo's.
