latest project big bridge

Don't know how I missed this post before, nicely done.  Looks massive but hopefully it's all foam so it can be lifted!   Good job.  Russ

She's a beauty, is it foam core, with spackling overcoat, or is it cast in plaster?   Would like to see more photos when finished.

 Yes it is fome core with plaster.It will have two roads one on each bank and one side will have tracks the outher bank will will have a canal.here are some outher pic. 

How did you carve all those bricks so quick into the plaster?!’

I just bought a plastic template imprint so I could imprint into drywall compound to make the "stone" stacked wall look.  I got these for walls and briges.

That's awesome.  I love big jobs like yours.  If I may ask- so you put a skimcoat of durabond on the foam and used a plastic template imprint to achieve the stone pattern on the structure.  Looks great.  Great variation etc.  I can't help myself.  I keep looking at the pictures.  i want to build one of those someday.

 I have been working on it for three weaks now. I take one hour each night when I get home from work to unwind.from a 12 hr day.

So far it weights is just under 100lb.

There are no templets used to make this.

 It is all hand carved. This I my second bridge

 the fiest one was a test to see how it wood look on a small bridge

that is really nice.  great handwork.  lots of hours in there.  100lbs?  wow!  heavy bugger.  to sell that piece would be a lot of money that I would ask for with all the labor.
