Good Morning - Hope everyone is healthy and feeling well today. I am building a small 12X10 layout with Atlas track. I ordered the switches but don't like the huge switch machine attached and wanted to purchase manual ground throws from Caboose Industries since I can reach every switch on the layout. My multi-part question is if forum members have experience using Caboose products, would they recommend them and what the difference between sprung and rigid throws are?

There are a couple of different switches, Caboose Ind. The spring loaded one works better. IMO Mike CT.
I've used Caboose Industries ground throws on several layouts. Like Mike CT says, you want the sprung version, #208s.
I have close to 30 sprung throws from Caboose and absolutely love them. They work fantastically and I recommend them.
Thank you guys, Bob, I'm a huge fan of your layout. So is installation as easy as removing the atlas switch machine and pushing the post from the manual throw through the hole on one side of the turnout?
I have used Caboose industries ground throws for many years. The low ones are least fragile if they fit your prototype or version. The high ones that rotate horizontally are more fragile. Both work fine.
I strongly recommend using the sprung ones. They are easier to adjust to closing the points since the sprung throw bar allows a little variability in the throw distance.
I think the ones with built in contacts are more fragile and more complex to install.
