Layout switch power

Without knowing layout size or what your running. You have available 8 amps on each line. I still might up the wiring size. 14 gauge buss and 16 or 18 for your feeders. My own layout is 12 gauge with 14 gauge feeders. But I have some long wire runs to some blocks.

An MTH Z1000 has a 14v auxiliary tap. You can buy just the power supply.

Thanks Dave. Layout is approx  15' x 12'.  Main 2 lines and yards will each be 14g bus & 18 ga feeders/ drops for each.  I wanted to put all the switches on a dedicated power supply and bus. For that i was gonna use 18 ga bus w 22g drops. Was wondering if that (18bus w 22feeders)  was ok for the switches. .   

I mis interpreted your post. I thought you were talking track wiring.  Yes, for wiring the switch motors. That  should be fine.

As Dave mentioned, your wiring should be fine.  For power, I use the Z-1000 brick's 14v accessary output.

Z-1000 is a good chouce.

I am powering my switch machines (and other accessories like lights, signals and control tracks) with my original ZW from 58 that has been refurbished.

The wire gauge for the switches seems fine.
