lcca brute/goliath current news AND do you want passenger cars

Sounds wonderful Lou!!! Sorry I cannot attend the Red Carpet event, but I look forward to the pics. Hopefully someone will post a few after the event. I'm in for a traditional version for sure. If its as nice as you make it sound , I truly hope we will see a matching passenger set in the future. Sean

I'm unable to attend the Rep Carpet event either, but rest assured that I will be putting an order in for the locomotive.  Also, I think that have a matching set of coaches will look excellent for this unit. 

I think a matching set of passenger cars is essential, what else would you pull with it?

I would expect those who buy the Goliath would buy the passenger sets.  Again, what else would they pull with this monster, I think most anything else would seem entirely too small.

Looking forward to seeing it Lou. If you made cars would they be the state cars or the larger showcase cars that MTH made for the Brute.

I would need to agree with John.  Anyone who would take on Goliath would need the showroom coaches to go with it.  For me, Goliath wouldn't pull anything else other than matching showroom coaches.

For us rookies what gauge is the goliath going to be built in  hopefully standard gauge and what does it look like an electric type or a steamer.  Is it similar in size t the brute

Danny, the Goliath is the Brute, but in custom colors for the LCCA. Yes it is standard gauge.

I guess I would just prefer the engine (and will be ordering it) and not the cars

I see that MTH still has both of the three car show room sets in stock. Looks like they overestimated the number of people who would buy them. $$$

I just got off the phone with MTH to update my club membership and they knew nothing of the Goliath...I wonder why?

 

Hopefully the person I spoke with is just not in the loop.

It should come as no surprise that they know nothing about the Goliath. Except for Midge helping out with parts...the staff really only knows the mechanics of submitting RA #s.  I've often wondered if I called the wrong # sometimes.  Lou will be the source of info for the Goliath and he does a darn good job of keeping us all informed. If you have any questions, post it here...you'll get an answer.

With respect to producing a set of Goliath passenger cars, the LCCA might consider contracting with Retro 1-2-3 to produce Buddy L-sized streamlined Hiawatha passenger car sets.  Retro 1-2-3 currently sells a spectacular Buddy L-size Milwaukee Road Baltic (Hudson) Hiawatha locomotive and tender and indicates it plans to produce in the future matching Buddy L-size streamlined Hiawatha cars.  IMHO a set of these cars on Standard Gauge trucks would be the ultimate consist for the Goliath to pull.  http://www.retro1-2-3.com/prod...asp?number=342006100

Now that the Goliath has been displayed at the LIONEL/LCCA Red-Carpet event, where can I find an order form for the Goliath?  

 

I did a "Goliath" search for the order form on the LCCA website and didn't get a "hit".
