Well the LCCA "Switching Tracks" Traveling Boxcar had a very busy and exciting weekend. This brand new LCCA Car made it's debut at the LCCA and Lionel display this past weekend at the WGHOT show in Hampton VA. Lionel Team members Bill Wander (L) , Lauren Morris, J. Don Reece and Mike Phillips (R) were with the first " LCCA Switching Track Traveling Boxcar" in Hampton VA. This car traveled extensively this weekend and made stops at the Kids Run Train Layout, and the TOGA modular layout at the WGHOT Show. Later in the day, this car visited and made stops on the impressive layout at the Children's Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth VA. and at LCCA Member Rick Williams impressive home layout. His grandson Jacob had a great time running this car on his Grampa's layout.
People will have an opportunity to see this same car at the WGHOT Show this next weekend in Raleigh NC. A second car will make its public debut at the Arctic Run Train show in Stevens Point WI this weekend Jan. 17 & 18. Stop by and meet with LCCA Volunteer Tim Fuhrmann and see another LCCA Switching Track Traveling Boxcar. For more details, please visit the "Special Events" tab on our website www.lionelcollectors.org.
If you are interested in participating in this new LCCA Switching Track Traveling boxcar program, please contact LCCA member Tim Fuhrmann at fuhrmanntim@hotmail.com.
Let's have some fun and we hope we can see you this weekend!

Very nice looking car, same idea as the Lehigh Valley Traveling box car that toured the rails a couple of years ago, everyone loved the idea and had a good time with it back then. Good luck in her travels.

LCCA’s “Switching Tracks” Traveling Boxcar is Off to a Fast Start!
Well the LCCA "Switching Tracks" Traveling Boxcar is having a great start with two very busy and exciting weekends. This brand new LCCA Car made its debut at the LCCA and Lionel display at the Jan 10-11, 2015 WGHOT show in Hampton VA. Lionel Team members Bill Wander (L) , Lauren Morris, J. Don Reece and Mike Phillips (R) were with the first " LCCA Switching Track Traveling Boxcar" in Hampton VA. This car traveled extensively that weekend and made stops at the Kids Run Train Layout, and the TOGA modular layout at the WGHOT Show. Later in the day, this car visited and made stops on the impressive layout at the Children's Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth VA. and at LCCA Member Rick Williams impressive home layout. His grandson Jacob had a great time running this car on his Grandpa’s layout.
During the weekend of Jan 17-14, several other LCCA members stopped by the LCCA Display at the Raleigh NC WGHOT Show to have their photo taken with this same traveling boxcar on the LCCA mini-layout which was designed and built by TW TrainWorx of Dallas TX. This LCCA traveling box car also made visits to the Lionel Display, East Carolina Railroad Club’s LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular RR layout hosted by LCCA member David Bjorkman, LCCA Member Michael Broggie’s display about Walt Disney’s Trains and LCCA member Larry Smith had the car on the LOTS traveling layout.
Also on Jan 17, a second Switching Tracks Traveling Box car made its public debut at the Arctic Run Train show in Stevens Point WI with LCCA Volunteer Tim Fuhrmann. LCCA members Ron and Mary Arndt and others had an opportunity to see this car and pose for some photos. Don and Nancy Revak featured this car on their A & R short line RR layout.
As you can see from the photos, LCCA Members are really enjoying and having a lot of fun with this new “Switching Tracks” Traveling boxcar program. If you are interested in participating in this new LCCA Switching Tracks Traveling boxcar program, please contact LCCA member Tim Fuhrmann at fuhrmanntim@hotmail.com.
Let's have some fun and let’s see this LCCA Switching Tracks boxcar on your layout or display.
Best regards
