LCS Wifi to Router Problem

I have seen the threads on this but I still can't connect to my home network. I used the LCS monitor utility in Acccess Point and I put the SSID and network password in, set config and the switched to Join Network. When I login to my router the LCS (Gainspan) is not listed. It works perfectly in Access Point. I don't know what I am doing wrong. The SSID is the wifi network right? and the password is the same password I use for echo devices etc.? Every other wifi device I have connects flawlessly to this router. Any advice would be appreciated.
