in refrence to led strips, what does smd mean and whats the difference between 5050 5630 3528 etc ? im looking for a higher power warm white strips. thanks, paul

SMD stands for Surface Mount Device which describes electronic components that get mounted on the surface of a circuit board, as opposed to components that get mounted in through-holes and soldered on the reverse (or both) sides.

Here is a description of the various LED strips.

5050 is the size package of the smd led. 5050 is 5.0 x 5.0 mm, 5630 is 5.6 x 3.0 mm and so forth.
