The one's I've used are the screw or bayonet type bulbs. Put them in my 2500 lionel series pass. cars. At first looked a little strange after being used to looking at regular bulbs @ 18 volts, but they're OK. Also used them on bridge block signals and 022 switches. I purchased them from a different source. I'm happy with them.
The one issue with many LED bulbs is the light is very directional, most of it comes out the top. Also, at $4/ea, these are some of the higher priced versions I've seen.
Those LEDs are also 14 volts, designed for automotive use. Not sure if they have a rectifier in them or if they are suitable for AC. In some instances they receive more than 14V on a layout. They are OK for block signals, etc but do not have the original toy train look. I have a few bags of similar ones but never used them. For car lighting you are much better off with buying John's kits or DYI if you want to make the effort. There only advantage is ease if installation, and they are expensive. They are cheaper direct from China on the flee bay.

I have gotten the inverted lens ones that you will find when you scroll down the page. I use them in all my #153 block signals and they look so much better than a regular bulb. I have only had to replace one in 5 years....

I use these TrainAidsA LEDs. They are TWO for $3.75, 18 volt AC or DC. I haven't ordered from them in a while, but have ordered 2 or 3 times previously with no problems. However, when looking up the link for this post, they now have a note at the top of the page saying they are not taking orders at this time. I was thinking about placing another order this fall, but this is NOT good. Might make me a little hesitant to place another order. Guess I'll keep an eye on the website and see what happens.
Hi
Thank you for your replies, I saw this in another forum and wanted to get some feed back. In the spirit of this forum sharing the knowledge is the key to this forum. Also thanks for point me to other vendor as well.
Town & Country Hobbies is another one I couldn't remember the name of earlier, however, I have never used them.
