LED light strips

Awhile back, someone here posted his purchase of LED strips from China and discussed how they were hooked-up. Those lights were out of stock briefly, but now are back and I got some. Are they DC powered and can I use a DC power pack? Whomever posted this discussion earlier, please let me know where it can be located on the forum, specifically the date it was posted. Thanks.
