So I just purchased a new 990 set and I finally had the chance to take it out and try it. I set up a floor layout in the garage with tinplate O gauge track and I have been trying to get it to work all day. Yes from 12pm to 2030 now. I am frustrated and very aggravated so I need some help please. I have one Legacy Diesel, a SF AC6000 6-28339 Road Number 9876. Now I've run this with the Cab1 but I figured I would try out all the Legacy options with the CAB 2. My setup is a Legacy Base, a TPC400 and a PH180. All the wiring is correct and the TPC is programmed correctly, I hope. No other bases or TIU's hooked up. First, I loaded the orange module in the handheld, followed the directions all loaded well. I then powered up the TPC by pushing TR-0-Boost. Power comes on and the engine lights up. No sound. I then switch over to ENG and address the engine by the last two numbers I have given it-76. At this time I push the STARTUP Button on the remote and nothing happens. The engine does not startup, does not move does not do anything. Sometimes it would run but with no sound or startup at all, sometimes not. After fiddling with all the buttons I found if I push the reset icon on the handheld controller the engine would come to life, but with one caveat, the speed control was now set at a very low speed. After trying for hours to turn the speed control off, it just got worse until the engine would not even move. I could not get the speed control to clear. So I bit the bullet and and did a system reset. Okay, I have full speed control back, but I still have the problem of no startup. Once again I pushed the reset button andI and back to square one, low set speed. I know it is probably operator error, but sorry to say this is not an easy system to learn, at least not for me. I just need some assistance. Also, how do you go about adding a second engine? I could do this with ease on my CAB1 but I have no idea how to do it on this model. I scoured the net and I've only become more confused. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Make sure the train brake slider on the left side of the remote is up. Sliding it down slows the locomotive, and ob the bottom will prevent it from moving.

Also make sure, that your TMCC1 system is unplugged and off.

This video should be helpful.  Ironically, this help video is for an ENG 76.
